As a member of his official fan club website/forum, I joined in the making of his birthday gift. The idea was to make a personalized Jenga game for him, as well as a card of course.<br />
We were sent a wooden block to decorate how we pleased, then they were collected up from around the world This is my block..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/56DED881.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/56DED881.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

it was supposed to be given to him on his birthday, but due to a surprise party thrown by the Jesus Christ Superstar cast (in which he's playing Judas), it had to be delayed until last night.<br />
<br />
At last he got it, Thanks to Shell from the forum (whose photos these are)<br />

So many things bought since then, I'll start with yesterdays goodies.<br />
I have a serious addition to buying books, they are all over the house, piled up gathering dust, but I could never find a decent bookshelf that I liked, but found this lovely pine one for £8 at Mencap, fortunately I have a trailer so didn't need to pay delivery,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/AC32CC5B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/AC32CC5B.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<br />
there was also one of those papasan wicker chairs for £10, it was the pattern I was drawn to, groovy or what ? The kids and cats are fighting over it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/964665FC.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/964665FC.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
thats it for now, I've been awake since 3am, and have so much to do today ! I'll probably have collapsed by dinner time ;)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4801677397419849075.post-47570480097743280872012-04-25T00:02:00.003+01:002012-04-25T00:02:42.076+01:00Dandelion HoneyYesterday I made some Dandelion honey, just enough for one jar, just incase it was minging, but surprisingly, it is rather nice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/82E5CFBB.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/82E5CFBB.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
if anyone fancys making some , heres the recipe,<br />
<br />
this made one jar, increase quantities as required,<br />
about 40 flower heads,<br />
500ml water,<br />
a mug and a half of sugar,<br />
1 small lemon.<br />
<br />
1, pull out all the petals (every bit of the yellow stuff),<br />
discard any green outside bits,<br />
2, add to your water in a heavy pan,<br />
3, squeeze in the juice of the lemon, then roughly chop the skin and bung in the pan too,<br />
4, bring to the boil, and boil for about 5 mins, then put a lid on it and leave it for an hour.<br />
5, have a cup of tea and a bikky/fag/snooze,<br />
6,strain the lot through a piece of muslin/pair of tights/headscarf etc, I use a piece of old voile curtain.<br />
give it a squeeze to make sure you get all the juice out.<br />
7, pour back into the pan and add the sugar.<br />
8, bring to the boil then simmer for anything up to an hour depending on volume ,<br />
9, regularly test it by dripping a bit on a cold plate and poking it with your finger,<br />
10, treat burnns to finger with cold water and an aloe vera leaf ,<br />
11, when it feels quite sticky like honey, pour into a clean jar and pop on the lid.<br />
12, once cooled , have another cup of tea and a slice of toast with a good dollop of the honey on,<br />
easy !<br />
<br />
come back soon for tomorrows recipe for Dandelion fizz, its supposed to be slightly alcoholic, yay<br />
xx<br />

First is this groovy JAJPyrex big casserole, 75p, (pity there was no lid but I shall take one off a boring flowered casserole I have), This made the trip worthwhile as I absolutely love these !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4EE3AFE8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4EE3AFE8.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/AA688FC2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/AA688FC2.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
next we have ... more JAJ Pyrex ! A big and a medium bowl, £1 the pair, I already have the small bowl which fits in perfectly with these.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/68E7370E.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/68E7370E.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I was grabbing stuff like a mad woman, everywhere I turned there was something else I couldn't live without !<br />
like this medium Mason Cash mixing bowl, 75p.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5A5DCC96.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5A5DCC96.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
and this more modern Mason cash pudding bowl, 50p, <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CFB0BF27.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CFB0BF27.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/F7C1727E.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/F7C1727E.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I then spied this pretty teapot, £1, It's a Swinnertons ironstone 'harvest fruits' pattern,<br />
These 6 small dishes and small bowl ,£1 the lot, are Phoenix ware glass and match the casserole I got the other day, The manger threw in the whisk and scissors for free.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/D66A13C5-orig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/D66A13C5-orig.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I didn't buy this big jar, I found it in my greenhouse on my allotment, it cleaned up nicely, I have no idea what I'm going to use it for , its full of smarties at the mo, they were reduced to 40p for 5 packets at the co-op(sell by date nov 12 ?)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CC6D5DA0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CC6D5DA0.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
This nightdress, £1, is so cool, it's victorian style, long, embroidered and ruffled(?), I want it, but think it will be too small for me as I'm a bit porky ! I shall try it on tonight, probably give the husband a heart attack ! It looks better in real life, the photo is a bit rubbish, i couldn't be bothered running upstairs for a hanger.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4AC60E9A.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4AC60E9A.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
Talking of hangers, these coat hook thingys were £1, got them for the daughters bedroom,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1F5FD5DC.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1F5FD5DC.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
and finally, best bargain I got last week was this mangy cat ! her owners had got a dog that didn't like cats , so she had to go (!!!!), free to a good home, complete with cat carrier, scratching post etc etc.<br />
<br />
She had just been recently spayed, and she was a total evil, mad, wild animal for the first 5 days after she arrived, snarling, yowelling, and hissing at us, then she would let you stroke her for about 20 seconds then she would attack you !!<br />
I really thought she was feral ! but gradually she got used to us, and is the most affectionate cat ever !!<br />
She spends her evenings curled up on my knee, wanders amongst the 4 dogs, but she still isnt keen on our other cat, Oliver, even tho hes tried to be friendly.<br />
We named her after my Aunty Lilian, who sadly passed away at the end of march, who loved cats, and my daughters have given her a second name too,<br />
so please meet, Lily Jellybean...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ECDC287F-orig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ECDC287F-orig.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CD2B1988.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CD2B1988.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Shes still a bit skinny, and the pictures arn't very good as she was sat on my knee at the time.<br />
In contrast, heres Oliver, pinning me to my chair for an hour, my legs were numb!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CBDF6D89.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/CBDF6D89.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<a href="http://thethriftygroove.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/thrifty-things-friday-54.html">thethriftygroove.blogspot.co.uk</a> link up to thrify friday !<br />
<br />

At the charity shop today, a big plastic box full of plates and stuff, job lot £1, I only bought it because it had a couple of JAJPyrex plates in that match the massive lot I got in January,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4B2D0012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4B2D0012.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<br />
but in amongst them I found this pressed glass jug and 4 matching bowls<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/6C004264.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/6C004264.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
and this big plain serving dish (no makers mark tho)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/C431E2A6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/C431E2A6.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
Further in the shop I found these two big serving plates for £1 each, first a Meakin,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/82373B77.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/82373B77.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
and a Tams ware,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/17B2E38F.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/17B2E38F.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
In another box I found a bag full of cotton reels and bits of coloured cloth/craft stuff, 50p the lot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5ACF84AD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5ACF84AD.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I also got this big hardback for 50p,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/C0A9CD5D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/C0A9CD5D.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
When I first went in the shop there were about 8 orange and yellow tupperware containers of various sizes on the counter at 50p each but the bloody woman in front of me had just bought the whole lot ! but I did find this huge tupperware cake container for £1 so not too dissapointed , :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/75B02C8A.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/75B02C8A.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I was very pleased to get this next item, I've been wanting one for ages ! only £1, it has 2 sets of blades and a wall hanging attachment !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/FD1A322D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/FD1A322D.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>

<br />
In the back room, waiting to be priced, I saw these....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/07273891.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/07273891.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>

you'll never guess the price,<br />
<br />
£1 for all 3.<br />
<br />
Time to travel across the carpark to the other building where they sell clothes and odds n ends,<br />
Nothing much takes my fancy, so starting to feel a bit disapointed but, hidden amongst the curtain were these !!<br />
They have to be the cutest kitchen curtains ever ! I've take the photo in 3 parts to show the whole of the design along the bottom. Pity I can't use them in my kitchen as they would hang over the cooker, but once I get out of this rented house, I am so going to design my kitchen around them, lol.<br />
and the price ? ....<br />
slight change here, they were £2 !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Had a trip there today and got this 6 place dinner set (6 cups and saucers, 6 dinner plates, 6 side plates ) made by Tremar, for £2, it's really heavy, and the backs and edges aren't glazed, made in the early 80s I think, I really want to find the matching teapot/sugar/jug !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/EA7B8282-orig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/EA7B8282-orig.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9C18CF8E.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9C18CF8E.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
next, a cast iron egg holder, £1, it is shiny black but looks mucky in the photo due to the flash !<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9AA5B4E2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9AA5B4E2.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I haven't had many books lately from there as they have shut off the book room due to the ceiling falling in,<br />
but donations are piling up all over therest of the shop, found these,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/74778B80.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/74778B80.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>

because they are all big hardbacks , cost me £3 altogether<br />

<br />
A friend of ours bought a pony and was given a rescued pony with it, as it's owner (who had rescued it) didn't have the space for him, She had found him all tied up in his tether chain so he couldn't move, his owner had just left him there and gone away on holiday, so she took him away and paid the bloke when he came back.<br />
Anyway, our friend knows how well Amelia trains our horses, and asked if we would like him for Amelia to train, which was really weird as just the day before I had said I would love a quiet 'ploddy' cob for myself to get back into riding as my charging about days are well gone.<br />
He is a 13.2hh cob cross trotter yearling so it will be a couple of years before I ride him, but it will give Amelia time to bombproof him !! He needs a new name as at the momment he's called Trio, and we are,'t too keen on it :) *edited to add, we have chosen a new name, he is now Skylar !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/babyhorse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/babyhorse.jpg" /></a></div>
This was him out for a walk<br />

I got a couple of pairs of jeans for £1.50 a pair and Amelia got yet another glass paperweight for £1, then as we were leaving , saw a dinner set tucked away in the 'to be priced' room. After several trips to the charity shop I had only spent 10p on a woden spoon for mixing the horse food, but,<br />
yesterday I found this !!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5d0ef9ff-d357-420c-89f6-e087d9d7017d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5d0ef9ff-d357-420c-89f6-e087d9d7017d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Not much to look at yet but...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ad938e28-2803-457e-97a5-9adc36c9d382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ad938e28-2803-457e-97a5-9adc36c9d382.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
start to unfold the case...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/63e4499e-3e46-4435-b4f1-f118461dc7db.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/63e4499e-3e46-4435-b4f1-f118461dc7db.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
and there she is ! a 1973/4 Singer Starlet (also named 'Genie' ) for the bargain price of £5, complete with box of spools, needles, selection of feet, and instruction book.<br />
I got the husband to switch it on in case it blew up, but it ran for a good 10 mins before there was a crackle and a puff of smoke !<br />
I took it apart and found it was very dusty inside but no sign of damage, the Husband switched it on and ran it on full speed for ages, and ages, but nothing else happened. I used it to patch up my daughters pants , using the zig zag stitch ! its brilliant .<br />
Next...<br />
Also found these English Ironstone beefeater plates, theres 5 of them, they arrived last week, but had a £5 price tag so I resisted them, but they were reduced to £3, so I just had to get them :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/be04178d-140b-4e57-97e5-ce3c2ed12851.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/be04178d-140b-4e57-97e5-ce3c2ed12851.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
In the other part of the shop, which is in a different building, I found this JAJ pyrex dish for 75p,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/0d3e6ff5-2a6b-4b14-9fe3-96bc162a33e6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/0d3e6ff5-2a6b-4b14-9fe3-96bc162a33e6.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
and this pair of JAJ plates, 50p<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4fbae5e5-a72e-4091-a0e0-b5923e69ec5d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/4fbae5e5-a72e-4091-a0e0-b5923e69ec5d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
and this tea set, 4 cups, 6 saucers and 6 side plates, for £1.50,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/7b0710a1-c554-4980-ab2b-ced42d52d87d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/7b0710a1-c554-4980-ab2b-ced42d52d87d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1d6b2f56-0140-4ead-b316-1f72dd2d6ad8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1d6b2f56-0140-4ead-b316-1f72dd2d6ad8.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Something turned up next that I've always fancied, A Goblin Teasmade, for £3,<br />
So I've been having tea in bed, just a pity the alarm on it is terrifying !!! It's like something from a nuclear power plant warning theres a breech in the reactor !! certainly makes you leap out of bed !!!<br />
Next a set of scales £1, bit boring but still a bargain,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/3b21d35e-80a4-41ba-987e-5089746c3485.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/3b21d35e-80a4-41ba-987e-5089746c3485.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
and lastly, heres what I've been doing while watching TV,<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/816ddb7e-047d-45ad-8b05-efeca56e997d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/816ddb7e-047d-45ad-8b05-efeca56e997d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I have no Idea what on earth I'm going to make with it when I've done !<br />
<br />

but did get this Midwinter fashion tea set , 6 of each , cup, saucer and plate, for £3<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/19f8cedc-ba41-470f-897f-dce8ed05c1ea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/19f8cedc-ba41-470f-897f-dce8ed05c1ea.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
the decoration is actually gold, but it doesn't really show up in the photo.<br />
<br />
I also got some brand new slippers for £1.50, my lot all said they look like granny slippers but I don't care ! they are so warm and cosy, lol <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/94c4ead6-2ff0-4f0f-bf88-1bb5579ab0be.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/94c4ead6-2ff0-4f0f-bf88-1bb5579ab0be.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
My Mum brought me this glass chopping board up from Yorkshire on sunday, love it !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/039dfc0d-8ddd-4b12-8461-f40f9105bd4a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/039dfc0d-8ddd-4b12-8461-f40f9105bd4a.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
fingers crossed someone donates a microwave this week !<br /><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4801677397419849075.post-59229302661672434282011-10-24T22:45:00.001+01:002011-10-24T22:52:27.312+01:00At last !!!!After a couple of boring weeks , with nothing at either the car boot or charity shop, this week there were things I wanted !!<br />
I only went to the charity shop because I had to drop off some donations, and the first thing I spotted as I went through the door was this !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/cd721ce5-4d8f-463e-9218-0b55427e36ca.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/cd721ce5-4d8f-463e-9218-0b55427e36ca.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Its the 113th edition, I can't work out the date, according to google it could be either 1923 or 1931, these are some of the adverts in the back,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9c409287-d997-4752-8efa-f909e1d68fd1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9c409287-d997-4752-8efa-f909e1d68fd1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/d66b4fe8-b828-4b62-b22e-570ee1a31f6a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/d66b4fe8-b828-4b62-b22e-570ee1a31f6a.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
inside the front cover<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1c1e1d4b-b533-45bd-9351-3462c284b512.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1c1e1d4b-b533-45bd-9351-3462c284b512.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
for some reason I was only charged 75p for this and another hardback (Peter Kay's 2nd book).<br />
Next I spotted this table cloth,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/8bd7e60d-d727-473e-b757-d74f0eca4e13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/8bd7e60d-d727-473e-b757-d74f0eca4e13.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
close up on the embroidery,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1ab5b0e5-7246-441e-94a2-dcbe4a8ccb44.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1ab5b0e5-7246-441e-94a2-dcbe4a8ccb44.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Who ever made it was so neat with thier stitches, it's almost as lovely on the back. £2 well spent I think !<br />
These 6 Enoch Wedgwood plates were just £1,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9d247779-037d-4409-a4f2-884e6fa12e54.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9d247779-037d-4409-a4f2-884e6fa12e54.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
close up on the pattern, they are more purpley in real life, <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1f242931-fe39-4837-bb1e-f14915624442.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/1f242931-fe39-4837-bb1e-f14915624442.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Next up, a pair of Colclough 'Star dust' Cup, saucer and cake plate sets, £1 for the lot<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/791988b6-50f3-4efa-b8ef-593700db73b6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/791988b6-50f3-4efa-b8ef-593700db73b6.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm off back to the shop tomorrow as my microwave blew up yesterday and I'm hoping they have some in, they are usually about a fiver, you never realise how much you use a microwave until its gone!<br />
<br />
I'm linking up with the magpie monday gang, so pop over there and enjoy !<br />

So todays goodies are rather sparce, the small car booty is getting smaller, and as I worked yesterday I missed the big booty.<br />
We did have a fair at work on saturday and I won 6 prizes in the tombola, just the usual smellies etc but I was quite pleased to get this Ringtons cup and saucer, I've even been using it !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ee842724-b631-4601-b3cf-5ac298367fb3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/ee842724-b631-4601-b3cf-5ac298367fb3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I forgot to put this on last week, its a jaj pyrex gravy boat and saucer, £1 from the charity shop<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5594d05a-b6f0-4bce-bfc8-4cddd7103c43.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/5594d05a-b6f0-4bce-bfc8-4cddd7103c43.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<br />
Finally the best freebie ever, on Sunday morning I found these in the allotment !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/fcd7a3b3-e8d3-4b37-abf2-11fc7839803f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/fcd7a3b3-e8d3-4b37-abf2-11fc7839803f.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
I knew she had been sitting on eggs but didn't think they would hatch as our cockerel is a huge Cochin, twice the size of this little hen (I hatched her and him myself in the incubator last year)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/131699_496634912168_594492168_5925309_5799157_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/131699_496634912168_594492168_5925309_5799157_o.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
Last year I bought a cute little Singer sewing machine for £4, what a bargain, turns out they sell from £150 upwards but I thought no way, it's too fab to get rid of...<br />
But, because of this little monster....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/318722_10150772592585335_538110334_20703574_5371978_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/318722_10150772592585335_538110334_20703574_5371978_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Who has been very naughty by escaping from his field and trying to get friendly with another pony, costing me £58 in vets bills due to a neurotic owner. He is now going to get his nuts off so my lovely sewing machine has to go to pay for it.<br />
It sold for £206 so I might buy him a bag of carrots too !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/281704_10150750352990335_538110334_20429203_1817755_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/281704_10150750352990335_538110334_20429203_1817755_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

2 Ringtons Rabbit mugs , made by Wade £1.50 the pair.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/c9d9ad92-791d-49f3-bc45-aa921e3cf16d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/c9d9ad92-791d-49f3-bc45-aa921e3cf16d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9452d82d-9e8e-4ac7-83d6-d75806d228e1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/9452d82d-9e8e-4ac7-83d6-d75806d228e1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Last but not least, these enamel tins, I only wanted the biscuit one, but she only wanted £1 for the lot, so thought I might mix 'n' match them with my pink set, and look out for another colour too, if you know what I mean !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Right at the bottom of the field I found this for £4 !!! and the blokes son carried it back to my car for me too :)<br />
It's a 1920 singer sewing machine, its been converted (i think) to electric, I haven't dared to plug it in yet !!!<br />
I don't really like electric machines, I prefer treadle or hand cranked (I have one of each ), but I love the decals on this one, its still filthy, the husband is hopefully going to clean it tomorrow and maybe test it !<br />
sorry the pics are a bit rubbish.<br />

</a></div>It's been a rubbish week for car booting, thanks to the flipping rain !!<br />
So had a ride over to the charity shop, there were two annoying families in there, with whiney kids and loud voices, constantly yackking on and on!!<br />
But managed to find a couple of things :)<br />
First is this Sherwood Ridgway 'white mist' tea set, £3<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/296b0c3b-orig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/296b0c3b-orig.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>theres 6 saucers, 6 small plates, 1 cake plate, Tea pot, milk jug and sugar bowl, but only 5 cups, plus the daft old buggers who wrapped it up forgot to put the jug and bowl in, despite me repeatedly saying 'is it all in the bags?' anyway I rang them and they are putting them behind the counter with my name on till monday, arghh but I want to play with them all now !!! lol<br />
<br />
Next we have a chicken plate, £1,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/6559638c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/lloydraistrick/Snapbucket/6559638c.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>I know I have far too many cups but thought these were too pretty to resist, 25p each<br />
